About the Author
Judi Kern is a passionate storyteller, proud grandmother, and lifelong dreamer whose words light up the hearts of children and adults alike. Inspired by the curiosity and wonder of her own grandchildren, Judi began writing books that celebrate imagination, self-worth, and the magic of everyday moments.
Her debut picture book, Does This Make Me Look Pretty?, launched a new chapter in her life—transforming her lifelong love of storytelling into a published reality. Since then, she’s continued to build a growing library of children’s books, planners, and keepsake journals that reflect her heartfelt mission: to create beautiful, meaningful stories that leave a lasting spark.

This little book was so cute and the illustration was brilliantly done. This is just what I was looking for to buy for my 3 great nieces, ages 8 and under. This book was so cute. When reading it to my daughter before bed, we went through the questions in the back, and I asked “what lesson does Freya learn…” she said ‘well I learned that my beauty is in my heart.” She’s 5. So she definitely understood what this book was trying to teach her. Then she turned around and did her makeup the same way as the little girl on the cover! 😂 Author did a great job!
